“仁者乐山，智者乐水”这句话最早是孔子说的，《论语》中记载道“仁者乐山，智者乐水，仁者静，智者动，仁者寿，智者乐。”溯其本意即为：仁者追求山一般的崇高、宁静、祥和;而智者追求水一般的快乐、灵动、悠然……
由此可见，不同的人都会追求自己的幸福，而性格不同的人衡量幸福的标准也不同，东晋田园诗人陶渊明终日过着采菊东篱下，悠然见南山的生活，倒是好生自在，宁静祥和，与世无争，所以平静的生活是一种幸福;俞伯牙与种子期的故事我们都有所耳闻，而在《吕氏春秋》中记载的‘伯牙摔亲谢知音’的情感诚然令人感动，由此可见，天长地久的友谊也是一种幸福。不同的人追求的幸福不同，但相同的一点，就是它们都无贵贱之分。
“幸福就是开心”这种思维模式逐渐在我们脑海中根深蒂固，其实也不尽然，追求幸福好比攀登高峰：若只为观赏风景，尽可乘索道上山，一睹风光;也可一步步登上山顶，看到美景的同时，还会有一种征服大自然的成就感，而在攀登的过程中，愈是举步维艰，到达山顶后的成就感变愈是强烈。同样的道理，若想收获幸福就应有所付出收获幸福的同时必须是开心的，但开心的是未必能表露出幸福。
麻烦的是：有的人曲解了幸福的含义，而在这些人之中，有的以为腰缠万贯的财富就是幸福，所以他们想着法挣钱而忽略了‘钱是挣不够的’这一客观事实，所以欲望从未被满足，以至于年耄垂死时还对他的财产念念不忘，诸如此类的还有许多，无论是高官还是厚禄都不能称得上幸福。
前不久‘走基层’活动中记者了解到大多数人觉得当下的生活称得上是幸福，而且他们依据就是当今国泰民安，生活稳定。百姓们认为‘家庭和睦’，而这与《大道之行也》中“大道之行也，天下为公，选贤举能，讲信修睦，使老有所终，壮有所用，幼有所养”
其中的思想不谋而合，从中能够看出，幸福的含义就是人内心深处最真实朴素的渴望。
幸福其实很简单，任何人都能找到自己的幸福，首先要坚信这一点;关键是肯为幸福付出，才能收获幸福;而且要对自己的收获予以肯定，世界上不缺少幸福，只是缺少感悟幸福的内心;要满足于自己所拥有的，知足者方能常乐。

桌上放着半杯水，悲观的人会抱怨它的不足;乐观的人则会庆幸还有半杯水，因而后者得到了满足。
同样的半杯水，两种截然不同的感慨。这告诉我们对待任何事物都要抱定一颗平常心，学会用感恩的心来感谢生活，感谢命运。等我们懂得了知足，生活便少了几分抱怨，多了一些光明。
“鱼与熊掌不可兼得”，这是发人深省的。一个人如果痴心妄想，那他贪婪的心就永远不会满足，甚至可能会付出惨重的代价。
嫦娥抛其夫君，偷食仙丹，妄图成仙，换来的却是广寒宫的无限冷清与寂寥;和珅位高权重仍不知满足，徇私舞弊，留下了千古骂名。而庄子、陶潜等隐士淡泊名利，逍遥世外，却成就了千古流芳的美谈。
世事就是这样的辨证，上帝让坏人享尽安乐，但最终以严厉的惩罚为代价;上帝给予好人平安与幸福，却让好人历经磨难。这是公平的，所以不要怨天尤人。人生就这样，没有绝对令你满意的事，关键在于你是否得到满足，能够乐观地对待生活。
不过知足并非一味地安于现状，不求进取，而是一种适可而止的生活态度。如错把知足当作安于现状，裹足不前，那你只会成为井底之蛙。
知足就是父母买给你玩具模片而你能自己拼好，知足就是朋友送你卡片而你不挑三拣四，知足就是珍惜一切来之不易的东西，包括生命。知足了菜根嚼着也香，知足了心里永远有着温暖的阳光。
知足就要避免心理失衡。人们在给予的同时往往期待着、索要着，他们付出了就一定要求有回报，结果却往往不尽如人意。那是因为他们把得失看得太重、不易满足，当然也往往会大失所望了。
请记住：学会知足，才能心底敞亮，少却烦恼;学会知足，才能更好地体会人生风雨兼程的艰辛和幸福;也只有人人懂得知足，我们的社会大家庭才能和谐、平静、适意而真诚。因为知足常乐啊!
